Healthy Bars
8 oz (1 stick) butter
1/3 c brown sugar
3 T honey
Heat the above together until the sugar is dissolved.
Mix together in a large bowl:
1 3/4 c oatmeal
1/2 c flour
2/3 c golden raisins
1/3 c dried cherries, chopped
1/3 c pumpkin seeds
1/2 wheatgerm
3/4 c flaked coconut
1/3 c sliced almonds
Pour the sugar mixture into the dry ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
Line a 9 X 13 inch pan with parchment paper. The mixture is sticky, and this will help remove the baked bars from the pan after cooking. Press the mixture into the pan.
Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes until the top is browned. Cool and cut into bars.
