Toffee
1 - 1/3 c sugar
1 c margarine or butter
1 T white corn syrup
2 T water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine in heavy 2 qt saucepan and boil to 300 degrees (hard crack stage).
Immediately pour into a nonstick cookie sheet and spread all over the sheet.
Sprinkle with 3 oz of mint chocolate chips. Spread the melted chips with a knife or spatula. Sprinkle with 1/4 c. slivered almonds.
Let cool and break into pieces. Store in airtight container in a cool place.
