Brussels Sprouts
This recipe is based on the brussels sprouts served at Houston's Restaurant.
1 lb brussels sprouts
2-3 T butter
2-3 T real maple syrup
Clean brussels sprouts and cut each in half through the stem end (otherwise they fall apart). Place in a microwave safe dish with a lid. Add 2-3 T water to the dish. Microwave for 1 minute 45 seconds on high, so that the sprouts steam and are partially cooked. Drain the water off the sprouts. Heat a large skillet, add the butter and syrup. Toss the sprouts in the skillet and cook then until they are slightly browned. Salt and pepper to taste.
